Kevin Joseph Donnelly, a long-time Colorado ski instructor who traveled the world seeking adventure, died in his beloved city of Guanajuato, Mexico.
Kevin most often taught skiing at Keystone Resort, until age 83, where he also introduced an adventure he designed, “In Search of Bigfoot Night Adventure Walks” for kids. He served visitors and shared his love for the Colorado high country in many other roles. He was a pavilion attendant in Silverthorne where he supervised various events and was a host at Blue Spruce Restaurant in Frisco.
He returned to Colorado frequently during an 85-year life while still pursuing new adventures around the world, including in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Belize, Panama, Honduras and Uruguay.
Along the way, he was an early promoter of Frisbee golf, a game he designed in Newport Beach, CA. After earning his PhD in Recreation and Leisure at the University of Utah, he helped open Walt Disney World in Florida and later opened theme parks in Singapore, El Salvador, South Africa, Moscow, Mexico, Scotland, and Philadelphia.
He lived each day with enthusiasm, optimism and endless energy. His full obituary can be found at Legacy.com, searching Kevin Donnelly
