The town of Frisco will host the 50th annual Run the Rockies Road 10K and Half Marathon on Saturday, Sept. 20.
Like previous years, runners will start at Copper Mountain and follow the paved Summit County Recreational Pathway through the Ten Mile Canyon before finishing on Frisco Main Street.
The 10K race course is 100% downhill, while the half marathon course is 75% downhill. Beyond the promise of running a quick time, the two races are expected to showcase the fall colors in Frisco.
The half marathon will begin at 8 a.m., with the 10K beginning at 8:30 a.m. Registration is open online at RuntheRockies.com. Registration fees include an optional commemorative gift, a finisher item, post-race food and post-race beer for athletes 21 and over.
Awards will go out to top three overall male and female finishers, as well as male and female age group winners. A post-race party will be held at the Frisco Historic Park to celebrate crossing the finish line and will include music, food and drinks for participants to enjoy.
Racers and all other Tenmile/Vail Pass Recpath users should expect, respect, and be aware of all users, and non-racers should anticipate heavy runner traffic through 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 20.
