A pedestrian-vehicle collision Jan. 10 in Silverthorne resulted in the pedestrian’s death, and the Silverthorne Police Department has released the name of the driver involved.

The police department has charged Max Gordon Miller, 46, with careless driving resulting in death, according to a news release. In an email, Police Chief Alice Cary stated police issued Miller a summons for the charge.

Silverthorne communications director Kristina Nayden previously wrote in an email to Summit Daily News that “no crime has been committed” in the incident and that the driver, Miller, was cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

The pedestrian, Karen Rae Fox, a 76-year-old woman from Silverthorne, was crossing Blue River Parkway using the crosswalk on the north side of the road’s intersection with 6th Street when the collision occurred, according to Nayden.

Miller was making a right turn from 6th Street onto northbound Blue River Parkway, Nayden wrote in an email.

The release stated the police department is working with the 5th Judicial District Attorney’s Office in the case.
