In 2026, Silverthorne will award more than $133,000 in cash and in-kind services to locally serving nonprofits through its annual grant process.

Silverthorne Town Council has selected 55 nonprofit organizations to receive $51,500 in cash awards and more than $81,500 in in-kind services during 2026. In-kind services include the use of town facilities such as the Silverthorne Pavilion, the Silverthorne Recreation Center and the town’s parks.

Every year, Silverthorne participates in a collaborative grant process for nonprofit organizations with other local governments within Summit County. Determinations are made by town council members based on benefits to Silverthorne residents as well as the nonprofit organizations’ past performance.

“Silverthorne Town Council and Town Staff are honored to support our local nonprofit organizations in the vitally important work that they provide for our community,” Mayor Ann-Marie Sandquist said in a recent news release. “The importance of nonprofits in our community cannot be emphasized enough and continues to be demonstrated time and time again.”

Summit Daily is embarking on a multiyear project to digitize its archives going back to 1989 and make them available to the public in partnership with the Colorado Historic Newspapers Collection. The full project is expected to cost about $165,000. All donations made in 2023 will go directly toward this project.

Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference.
