Spruce Creek Road to close for improvement work for up to a month in June

Matt Hutcheson/Summit Daily News
Spruce Creek Road will close for three to four weeks starting June 9 while the Town of Blue River conducts major road improvements, according to a news release. The project will address drainage, regrade and pave the road from Colorado Highway 9 to Gold Nugget Drive.
Crown Drive will only be open to local traffic during the construction. Residents, including short-term renters, in the area will be able to access their homes. Residents on the closed area of Spruce Creek Road, Louise Placer Road and Miners Court will access their homes via Gold Nugget Drive.
Blue River expects the work to be completed before the Fourth of July weekend, but it has plans to open the road July 3-7 if not.
The town encourages those looking to access Mohawk Lakes during the construction to explore other hikes in Summit County, like Pennsylvania Creek, Lower McCullough Gulch, Blue Lakes or Quandary Peak.
