The Summit High School mountain bike team continues to rack up wins in the early part of the season.

After capturing its first Division 1 team title in program history last month, the Tigers traveled to Eagle to compete in its second race of the season — Haymaker Classic — on Saturday, Sept. 6.

Similar to the team’s first race of the season on the Frisco Peninsula, Summit dominated the race in nearly every race division, securing the team’s second-consecutive win of the season.

Senior Finn Brown led the team in points by taking sixth overall in the three-lap varsity boys race. Brown finished the race in a time of 1 hour, 4 minutes and 17.5 seconds. Brown finished behind series points leader Jake Sandau of Animas in first place (1:10:08.13).

Junior Trent Granshaw finished 17th in the varsity boys race in a time of 1:20:21.39.

Senior Fiona Florio was able to put together an impressive performance in the varsity girls race. Florio crossed the finish line of the three-lap race in 1:36:17.20 to take 15th overall.

Sophomore Marin Little continued her winning ways in the two-lap sophomore girls race. Coming off a first-place finish at the Frisco race, Little once again secured the top spot on the podium in Eagle, crossing the finish line in a time of 1:27:47.74. With the first-place finish, Little continues to be the points leader in the division.

Not far behind, Little was Piper Rabinowitz. Rabinowitz took fifth overall in the sophomore girls race in a time of 1:33:47.89.

In the junior varsity girls race, junior June Baniewicz led the results for the Tigers with a 12th-place finish (1:37:18.81). Junior Heidi Frey finished two places behind Baniewicz in 14th (1:37:20.50) with senior Kate Williams taking 18th (1:39:39.06).
