Summit runners named to all-state teams for 2025 cross-country season

On Tuesday, Nov. 4, the Colorado High School Activities Association announced the 2025 boys and girls cross-country all-state teams.

All of the teams were created based upon results at the state championships in Colorado Springs on Saturday, Nov. 1. The top seven individual finishers in each classification were named to the all-state first team. The next seven were named to the second team and the rest of the top 50 earned honorable mention.

All seven of the Summit boys who ran at the this year’s Class 4A state cross-country meet earned all-state honors. Taking sixth and seventh respectively, juniors Jay McDonald and Lukas Remeikis were named to the 4A boys all-state first team.



Junior Johnny Ryan was named to the second team for his 13th-place finish. Junior Owen Fallon, senior Carter Niemkiewicz, senior Can Steinweg and junior John McDonald earned spots on the honorable-mention team.

Coronado High School’s Oliver Horton was named the 4A runner of the year with his coach, Lisa Rainsberger, being named coach of the year.



Four Summit girls earned spots on the all-state team. Freshman Kayla Broecker was named to the all-state first team for her second-place finish at state. Junior Milla Phaf, freshman Leah Noble and junior Lily Benbow were all honorable mentions.

Cheyenne Mountain High School’s Raegan McRae was named the 4A girls runner of the year. Matt Miltenberg of Timnath High School was named the coach of the year.
