From Dillon to Breckenridge on Tuesday morning, residents may have spotted a helicopter circling around Summit County. The black and white helicopter took off around 9:15 a.m. and flew over Dillon, Silverthorne, Frisco and Breckenridge, often looping around these areas.

The helicopter circled around the Frisco area before flying south toward Breckenridge. It looped around near Airport Road then flew north over the Dillon Reservoir to Dillon and Silverthorne. It flew back to Frisco, covering 54 miles before being last seen around 10:22 a.m., according to FlightAware.com. The website shows the helicopter made its way to Steamboat Springs around 11:30 a.m.

Zephyr Helicopter Co. owns the aircraft, which has a tail number of N206LR. The company is registered in Steamboat Springs, and according to its website, offers a variety of services, including charter flights, aerial photo and video, real estate viewing, search and rescue, hunting trips, flight instruction and more.

Summit Daily News reached out to Zephyr to ask about the purpose of the flights, but the company was not immediately available for comment.
