On Friday, July 25, artists Hilary Williams and Susan Mattson began work on a new outdoor art mural at Walter Byron Park in Frisco.
The mural — which is located on the exterior of park’s restroom facility — is expected to take approximately five days to complete. While the mural is being completed, community members are encouraged to stop by to visit the artists.
The mural is expected to be finished by Tuesday, July 29.
The mural was commissioned by the Frisco Arts and Culture Council out of the 131 design submissions received in 2024 for the Highway 9 pedestrian tunnel project.
Although artist Pat Milbery was ultimately selected to complete the tunnel mural in the fall of 2024, the Frisco Arts and Culture Council was inspired by the fairytale-like, nature-themed design submitted by Williams and Mattson and felt it deserved a place in Frisco.
