Young creators invited to compete in Frisco’s free kids’ sandcastle competition

On Sunday, Aug. 10, the Kids’ Sandcastle Competition will return to Frisco Bay Marina.
Geared toward kids ages 12 and under, the fun will kick off at 10 a.m. on the Frisco Bay Marina’s sandy beach with the awards following at noon. All competitors will have from 10-11:30 a.m. to shape and build their masterpieces. Children are encouraged to bring their own sandcastle building supplies as well as anything they would like to use to decorate.
The competition’s panel of judges will being the judging process at 11:30 a.m.
There will be four age divisions in the competition including, 1-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. Children may participate solo or form teams of up to four participants.
Each child will receive a free popsicle, and prizes will be awarded to first place overall as well as first, second and third in each age category. All sandcastle decor must stay with the castles for public viewing through the afternoon and should be picked up at 3 p.m.
Participation in the competition is free, but kids must be registered online at TownofFriscoEvents.com. Thee will be no registration the day of.
