After a slight dusting of snow on Thursday night, Arapahoe Basin Ski Area announced it will open for the 2023-24 season on Sunday, Oct. 29. Opening day will offer skiers and riders mid-mountain to base skiing on High Noon via the Black Mountain Express.

Lifts will spin from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.

A-Basin will not offer a beginner experience on opening day. High Noon is for intermediate skiers and above. A-Basin will also be hosting a concert and Halloween costume contest to celebrate opening day on Sunday.

A-Basin is the first ski resort in Colorado to announce its opening day, although it wasn’t the first in the country to open.

Other Summit County resorts are expected to open in the next few weeks, aided by the anticipated snow this weekend.
