Lucas Herbert/Arapahoe Basin Ski Area
The first true powder day of the 2025-26 season has finally arrived in Summit County. After a quiet start to the season, Summit County ski areas received deep snow Saturday morning, Dec. 6.
Here is how much snow each ski area reported over the last 24 hours:
- Copper Mountain: 10 inches
- Arapahoe Basin Ski Area: 9 inches
- Keystone Resort: 9 inches
- Breckenridge Ski Resort: 8 inches
- Loveland Ski Area: 5 inches

Summit County is under a winter storm warning until 11 p.m. Saturday evening. The storm is expected to deliver additional snowfall and gusting winds.
In addition to the winter storm warning, the Park Range and Gore Range are under an avalanche warning. Anyone in the backcountry should expect very dangerous avalanche conditions (Level 4 of 5) through 5 p.m. on Saturday. Travel in backcountry avalanche terrain is not recommended during this time.
