The Colorado Department of Transportation will implement traffic holds July 8-9 in both directions of Interstate 70 between Vail Pass and East Vail while helicopters deliver avalanche and rockfall fence materials.

The material delivery is related to the ongoing West Vail Pass Auxiliary Lanes Project, which is now in its final year of construction.

The 20-minute holds between mile points 190–180 will take place between 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day. A department Facebook post about the traffic holds stated they could cause delays of up to 45 minutes, although the recreation path will not be affected.
