The Breckenridge Police Department announced in a news release Wednesday that it made a felony arrest involving a Breckenridge resident on a warrant related to a series of vehicle break-ins and thefts.

Police arrested the man on Tuesday around 8:30 a.m. at a residence on Oak Lane and suspect him of stealing tools and other items. The release stated he has “an extensive criminal history,” including prior theft, fraud and drug charges.

The investigation into the break-ins involved reviewing surveillance video from locations where his vehicle had been seen.

Charges filed include first-degree criminal trespass of a motor vehicle, second-degree burglary, identity theft and more.

The release stated over $7,000 in power tools were stolen, and while the police recovered some items while searching the man’s residence, others remain missing and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone believing they may have been a victim of the man and anyone who has more information should call the nonemergency dispatch at 970-668-8699 to speak with a Breckenridge police officer.

“This case serves as a reminder to lock your vehicles and secure your belongings,” the release stated.
