Frisco Historic Park and Museum announces full schedule of summer programs and events

On Thursday, May 8, the Frisco Historic Park and Museum officially announced its full schedule of events for the summer season.

Major events include the return of the popular lecture series, historic walking tours and hikes, and the town’s History Day.

Throughout the summer season, the Frisco Historic Park and Museum will offer Masontown historic hiking tours and the Mines of Mount Royal bike tours. Both opportunities allow participants to explore Frisco’s mining history and the natural environment. Each outing costs $20 for adults and $10 for children ages 5 through 17.



The museum staff will also be offering historic downtown walking tours that informs guests on the 140-plus-year history of Frisco. The tour begins at the Schoolhouse Museum, winds along Main Street and ends at the Lund House at the Frisco Bay Marina. The walking tour costs $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Starting on Thursday, May 15, Frisco will begin offering Pop-Up in the Park activations. The community event allows museum staff and other reputable members of the public to lecture on topics like bird watching, knitting, astrology and birds of prey. Some Pop-Up in the Park events are free with others requiring a small entry fee.



Frisco’s History Day is slated to take place on July 5 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sponsored by Copper Mountain and Climax Molybdenum, the history day celebrates the past present and future of Frisco with activities, music and more. The event is free to attend.

Frisco will offer a summer lecture series every Wednesday from June 18 through Aug. 20. Taking place at various locations in Frisco, participants are invited to learn about the rich history of Frisco. Lectures are free to attend and will be centered around mining history, Native American history, burro pack racing and more.
